Snake Rattle n' Roll is my second-favourite NES game, and it's also basically the game that got me back into trying to beat classic games.
I've owned this game for a long time, but I could never beat it (it's very difficult). Somewhat recently, I restored my NES, and I took another shot at this game. After some work, I finally passed the thing.
Of course, it took me a while before I could duplicate the feat (I detest the final boss in this game, he ruins so many good runs). Even this run isn't that spectacular, but it's good enough. Maybe I'll play through it again sometime with a second player.
Oh, and I don't use a turbo controller for this game. This is all natural button ramming.

Stunt Kids is a neat little Excitebike-esque game, though in my opinion it improves on Excitebike in basically every way.
For those who don't know this game, I'm the kid on the top. The one on the bottom is just a demo.
This run took a lot more tries than you'd think, because I was trying not to die. You can see it's close in a lot of cases.
At any rate, this game is best experienced by actually playing it. You should give it a try if you've never played it before.

Site design finally done
I've finally got my site working properly across browsers and resolutions.
The channel knob to the right is now active, but the only thing you can do with it right now is see the archives. More stuff will be forthcoming.
Man, this took a lot of work. Browser Compatibility with CSS is a real pain.

Suck gas, evildoers! Darkwing Duck is basically a Megaman clone, though I suppose Capcom is entitled to rip of their own game. This is also one of my best runs. And now that it's on Youtube, the quality looks a lot better, too. There's never been a better time to get dangerous!

This is a run of Super Robin Hood, which is one of the games in Quattro Adventure.
This was the game that inspired me to start recording runs like this, after I noticed that some people had put partial runs up of this game but they couldn't beat it.
This is a pretty cool game, easily the best one in Quattro Adventure. This one could probably stand on its own. I don't know if I'll ever attempt any of the other games in Quattro Adventure, really only Linus Spacehead has the potential to be interesting and it's brutally hard.

This was the first one of these videos I did, basically as a test of Google Video.
I have played Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers a preposterous amount of times, so it wasn't particularly hard for me to beat it without dying. Of course, the last level is the hardest one, so I had to restart this a couple times.
The first time I did this, I accidentally recorded it using a PAL version of the game, so the music played a bit too fast. I have since re-recorded it using my capture card, so the music is correct. I've gotten a little better at the game, too.

Welcome to Tero's Classic Gaming!
Welcome retro gaming fans and bored blog surfers!
This board is basically a place for me to place all of my classic gaming runs, since Google Video doesn't really give you any kind of page that you can link to for your videos. This will also allow people to comment without having an account (since Google Video doesn't let you) and I'll probably also post things about my progress on new or old games from time to time.
On that note, on to the first video!

Blog hopefully running
Okay, after hours and hours of fighting the html on this site, I think I've finally got the blog in a vaguely displayable format. It won't scale to your browser resolution like how I had hoped, but hopefully it still looks presentable even on big resolutions. I'm still going to end up fiddling with this a bit more later, I'm sure.
After much more tweaking, I've gotten the layout working across all browsers and resolutions - the secret was scaling back the design. CSS is just not consistent enough across browsers for something like what I was originally attempting to be possible, but this comes pretty close.

Here I've listed a handful of games I've considered doing runs for. If you have a particular preference for one of these games, you can vote for it here.
There's no guarantee that a game that gets a lot of votes would get done right away, but it might influence me when picking the next game to do.
Should I switch to using Youtube?
Player Info:

- Tero
- I'm just a guy who plays far too many video games. I own an Intellivision, NES, SNES, N64, Playstation, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advance, DS, and PSP, as well as far more games than I could count.
I started doing these game runs both as a way to show off and to challenge myself. Mostly the former, though.
What Else is On:
Gaming Websites
GameFAQsThis is basically the number one resource for gamers. Has basically all the information about games you could ever want, and one of the biggest gaming communities out there.
Other Websites
Google VideoThese fine folks host my videos. Though the quality isn't the best, this is a great site if you have long videos to upload since you don't have to break them up.
Comic Genesis
This is a cartooning community for amateur cartoonists, though a lot of the work there rivals what you'd see in print in terms of quality. A lot of my friends have comics here.
Linking and Subscribing to Me:
If you want to link to this site, you can use this graphic (please copy it to your own server), or you can just do the old text-link thing.
You can also subscribe to this blog to know when it updates using RSS. I don't use RSS much, but hopefully you all know how this works.
