NES Die Hard

It's that time of year again - time for a holiday-themed game! Or maybe not, because I kind of ran out. This is a pretty cool game anyway, though, it's quite open-ended and is pretty accurate to the movie. Pretty unique as NES games go.

Okay, it's been a while since I last updated, but that's because this one took some practice. Alien Soldier is one of the craziest action games out there, it's basically like Gunstar Heroes or Contra Hard Corps but with everything turned up to 11. It's also probably the most graphically impressive Genesis game, and one that more people definitely need to check out. If you like nail-biting fast-paced action, this is a game for you.

I've considered doing this game for a while, but I was concerned that racing games lacking any kind of combat mechanics might be boring to watch. However, there doesn't seem to be any kind of pattern to what people will watch some maybe I'm overthinking it. This is one of the best Mode 7 racers in any case.

Biker Mice From Mars Updated

Since I haven't recorded anything new in a little while, I decided to do another playthough of Biker Mice From Mars using a different character this time. This game's characters are very different from each other, so it's worth checking out, as is this game if you haven't already.

Low G Man is an action-platformer from Taxan. It's not the most well-polished game ever, but the concept of stunning enemies to be dispatched by a melee attack is pretty cool.

There are definitely some similarities between Shatterhand and Power Blade, but they're both pretty fun games. This is quite a good run of the game, too. Once you learn which options to use it's fairly easy.

I hope you enjoyed the brief foray into games that aren't on the NES, because now we're back to the oldies. Today's game is Power Blade, a niche megaman-like game with a pretty ridiculous premise. It's a very solid game, though, and well-worth checking out.

Well, to my great surprise, the Bishi Bashi Special 2 video proved extremely popular. So I'm doing the sequel to the game as well. Unfortunately, I don't feel that this one is quite as good overall, but no doubt some of that has to do with the fact that the game is designed to be played with a DDR pad and I've never had the chance to play it that way.

And now we have something a little newer than most, but this is still over 10 years old. This was one of my favourite games of the GC era, and while I can now see that it has some problems, it still has pretty good gameplay and presentation.

Here we have the little-known sequel to DuckTales. Compared to Rescue Rangers 2, this is definitely closer in quality to the original game, and it makes some additions that are somewhat interesting. Most notably, the game is much less linear than its predecessor, it takes some decent exploration to complete the treasure map.

The price of this game has also really shot up in recent years. I paid $30 only a few years ago, and you'd be lucky to land this game for less than $75 now. I guess this just highlights why it's better to buy retro games sooner rather than later.

Here I've listed a handful of games I've considered doing runs for. If you have a particular preference for one of these games, you can vote for it here. There's no guarantee that a game that gets a lot of votes would get done right away, but it might influence me when picking the next game to do.

Should I switch to using Youtube?

I'm just a guy who plays far too many video games. I own an Intellivision, NES, SNES, N64, Playstation, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advance, DS, and PSP, as well as far more games than I could count.

I started doing these game runs both as a way to show off and to challenge myself. Mostly the former, though.
